So. Have gotten used to most things now, and have so far wandered into downtown Tokyo twice now. Once to Ginza to go window shopping, and once to Shibuya and a nearby area that is quite well-known for its freakily dressed people. Both trips were rather entertaining, although I felt more comfortable surrounded by the freaky people. I just felt out of place in Ginza. Heaven forbid I should wear shoes without heels.

My host family`s dog died yesterday. Momo was her name (which means Peach). The dog was older than their kid, though, so I wasn`t all that surprised. Especially since she`s been sick.

Anyway. As for the address, here it is:

Kristin Balthazar
c/o IES Tokyo Center
1-7-1 Nakase, SCEC Bldg. 3rd Fl.
Mihama-ku, Chiba-shi, Chiba-ken
261-0023
Japan

And to do the international mailing thing, just copy the address directly onto the envelope. Then I guess the easiest thing would be to just take the letter to the post office and tell them that you want to airmail (airmail! very important!) something to Japan, and let them tell you how much it cost. I think it`s about 80 cents. I`m told if you get the postage right and mark the package airmail you can just drop it in any old mailbox, but I`ve never tried that so I don`t know if that works or not.

So, yeah. Not much else going on, really. Apparently I`ve already survived two earthquakes but I managed to sleep through both. Bah, where`s the fun in that?
