It's my two-year tumblr anniversary (and how many hours of anger at stupidity and pointless reblogging of pretty pictures have gone into those two years), and I'm celebrating by writing drabbles for anyone who happens to drop a pairing and prompt in my ask box. It's turned out to be rather successful (yeah, rather), so I'm not going to cross-post them all here, but I thought I'd provide you all with links, since there's a fair variety of stuff that may interest.
★
Draco's Little Girlfriend (Draco/Luna, Narcissa, Lucius; G) - In which Draco brings his girlfriend home to meet his parents.
★
Guilty (Barty Jr/Regulus; PG) - Barty was so young. He was even younger than Regulus, much too young to be mixed up in the Death Eaters.
★
Studying, Rose? (Lily Luna/Rose; R/NC-17) - Rose was in the library, and she had been standing at a bookshelf, her head tilted to the side, carefully scanning the spines of the books for something that might be useful for her assignment on Muggle perceptions of Witches and Wizards, and she jumped and nearly dropped her bag when she heard her cousin's voice low in her ear.
★
Substitute (Rodolphus/Narcissa, Rodolphus/Bellatrix; PG-13) - What Rodolphus could not have from Bellatrix, he took from Narcissa.
★
More Fun Than Parties (Daphne/Astoria; NC-17) - Astoria was in the middle of eating dinner at one of her family's interminable parties, not thinking of anything except her food, when she felt her sister's foot against hers.
★
With Draco Away (Lucius/Narcissa; R) - On the first morning after Draco left for his first year at Hogwarts, Narcissa woke up early. She lay in bed, smiling widely at the ceiling and savouring the silence in the manor, then she rolled over on top of her husband and prodded him.
★
Brazen (Rodolphus/Lucius/Narcissa and permutations thereof; R) - In which Lucius finds his wife and Rodolphus Lestrange in a compromising position.
★
Under the Stands (Draco/Hermione/Luna; R) - In which it is most important that Draco, Luna and Hermione keep quiet.
★
Lily's Delusions (Lily Luna/Scorpius; PG) - Lily was sitting on the hearth, her knees drawn up to her chest, rocking back and forth and staring into the flames. Scorpius could hear her mumbling under her breath, but couldn't make out the words, and she seemed unaware of his presence.
Now, for the rec:
A Bit About Boxing (Gregory Goyle/Dudley Dursley, PG-13)
I was initially going to skip over this, since I don't have much interest in Goyle (or Dudley, except where paired with Pansy), but my days are always packed full of so much angst and smut and dark!fic, and while I love those things, the low rating, almost Disney-esque-sounding summary and rather lighthearted prompt drew me in. So I was like, "Okay, it's an intriguing pair anyway".
And then I opened it up and like, DAMN, I came face-to-face with the first really good Goyle point-of-view that I'd ever read.
The narrative takes established character traits of Goyle's (a bit thick, loves to eat, etc) and tones them down somewhat from their exaggerated proportions in Harry's point-of-view. It also shows Dudley from the perspective of an outsider, and he comes off as much more pleasant - and frankly, interesting - than he does either in the books or in most fanfiction.
I don't know anything about boxing, like... at all, so I don't know how well it captured what it's really like, but I was in a way charmed by the boxing scene nonetheless.
I wouldn't go so far as to call this fic "sweet" or anything like that, but it's gentle and optimistic in ways that I don't usually read.
So yes. I recommend that you read it, and also that you give a glance to the other fics in
deatheaterfest, because there's other good stuff there too and MORE COMMENT LOVE, GUYS :D
