I love the kind of architectural structures my subconsciousness is capable of creating. I hardly remember what exactly was my dream about, but it's better I try to write down what I saw before I forget it.

I was in an old corner of a city, full of decaying Victorian buildings and such -- it rather reminded me of Rio de Janeiro's Lapa, since it also had an aqueduct of sorts; it was grayer and more ornate than Lapa's Arches, though. I was with a friend, don't remember who, and we were trying to get to... a con? Can't recall. An old man offered to help us get there, but he took us the wrong way, and I noticed he didn't exactly have noble intentions towards my friend. To get where we wanted, we'd have to cross the bronze suspension bridge (it was really greenish due to oxidization) on the opposite end of the long avenue the man had taken us -- he offered to accompany us there, but I avoided him by taking a tunnel adjacent to the aqueduct. It was actually kind of a desperate measure, since I thought the tunnel would be dangerous too, but at least I knew it was a shortcut to our destination.

As we crossed the tunnel, it soon became a stone bridge of sorts paved with gray stone bricks, complete with cast iron gas lampposts, which led down to a big round plaza. The plaza was paved with the same stone bricks as the bridge, although they were arranged circularly, with a few mosaics here and there. At its center, there was a huge bronze fountain, with statues of dancing maidens -- probably the Graces -- around an obelisk/town clock. The tunnel we came from was the only one that led there, but there were four or five light marble curved stairs leading to a level above, and probably to the higher parts of the city. The curious thing, though, is that there was no visible form of support for the plaza -- as far as we knew, it was suspended in darkness, even when it seemed very well lit, and the only things sustaining it were the tunnel, the stairs, and some huge classical marble columns that supported the edges of the upper level.

To reach our destination, we took one of the stairs, and as we were climbing them, we finally looked up. The whole thing was topped by a huge dome-shaped ceiling. The design was something of a cross between a conservatory's dome and a rose window, with its elaborate white-painted cast iron spokes. Where would be glass, however, there was solid color; the spaces were painted (was it paint?) in tones of lilac and blue. I knew I was so awed by that ceiling that I took a photo of it, lol.

When we got to the top, we saw that the upper level was full of vendor booths -- it was kinda like a subway's galleries, really, only prettier.

I don't remember much after that, I was already waking up. I'm glad I could keep the scenery porn, though. XD
