So MCC has been really trying to pull me into a full time position. Over the summer I was offered a job for 80k per year and turned them down. I just did not want to teach the classes they wanted me to teach and to be honest the hourly rate was lower then my pay at TRCC. I still had a little remorse over turning down that much money but being an art professor is more important then being a shop teacher. Last week MCC offered me a different position that would not interfere with my contract at TRCC and I told them I would consider it. Instead of teaching the sections of machining I would be running the new shops. The pay would go down to 40k and my responsibilities would be totally different I would help with running the classes and I would also order tools and stock. Combined with my teaching income from TRCC my pay would be about 80k and I would have better benefits. The only thing holding me back is the idea that the hours would be pretty long and I have gotten used to hanging out with Max all the time. He will be in school soon though. I feel like most people would jump at the opportunity to make that kind of money. I have worked very hard to get where I am and have made huge sacrifices to my personal life, hobbies ect so doing something I am not in love with seems like to much of a compromise. I have a meeting this week to try to hash out the details of the new appointment before I make a decision so I guess more to come...
