When I first saw this game I was like wait a minute no way. Teddy bears and death and killing? Wait it gets better the box has zombies? aliens? oh my gawd I needs this! Luckily my hubby saw my new interest and gotted me this wonderfulness. Now granted I havent gotten to play the entire game yet due to being so very busy with our halloween costumes (which will be fucking epic fyi post to come later on that) I absolutely love this game.
You play as Naughty Bear a bear that has been horribly wronged in many ways by your fellow bears on the island. You can use a number of different weapons to slash and beat them so they never forget how mean they really are to you. Sneeking around in the forest (with just a couple of leaves on a stick hiding your face which i think is hilarious) you wait for an oppurtune moment to pounce and scare the stuffing out of them. Hopefully you are able to scare them enough to push them over the edge and drive them mad, ultimately having them kill themselves. Muahahahahaha! They can fight back with the same variety of weapons you have access to. Each level has the normal bears and then specialty bears going with the theme of that level. For example the first level is a birthday party you werent invited to. While seeking your revenge and destroying presents you get the cops called on you who have guns. You can set traps, destroy almost everything all the while eating cake to survive.
Positives: Its cute and totally brutal at the same time its like me in a nutshell. The unique ways of killing bears still makes me manically laugh. My favorite is to sabatoge a fridge and then kill them while thier fixing it, by throwing them inside for them to then emerge as a giant bear ice cube to melt on the floor. My father's favorite weapon is the golf club, when killing a bear you use thier head as a ball and drive it. Complete with golf clap! I like the style the bears are drawn and animated in. The main bear makes me think of my stuffed bear. I am consistantly playing trying to beat my last high score and I still don't think i've exhausted the ways to kill the bears. I also really like how when you hit or kill a bear there isnt blood but fluff that comes out. What? thier teddy bears. What did you expect? lol. There are Main levels with sub levels to each one about 8 levels? something like that. There are about 4 sublevels perlevel with challenges like not using any conventional weapons or hitting the bears. It makes my collecting need happy. The acheivements are challenging in a good way too.
Negatives: Its a very niche game. If you dont love it for its cuteness/hilarious bear killing then its probably not the game for you. Every level is layed out pretty much the same exact way. Thus far (about 4 levels into it) not much of a variety. Once you've played through one level you pretty much know how to get a high score in all of them.
There is a multiplayer mode but I havent tried it yet. Probably will when I get more time to play. But now I have to get back to my paper mache on a giant drill. Guesses on the costumes?
