I finally finished The Way of Kings, Brandon Sanderson's new horse-choker of a book - the first in a large series. Still, I loved it. It was a little slow going at the beginning, but quickly picks up and carries through. It ends in a satisfying way, with everyone's orgins and backstory pretty much laid out.
The newest Sanderson, his latest Mistborn book, dropped to like $8.50 in hardback on Amazon, so it moved up the queue.
Snuff, by Terry Prachett was excellent as always. It's a Vimes book. Makes me sad that we won't eventually get a book about Young Sam becoming a copper.
On my plate now is Circle of Enemies from Harry Connolley, his third Twenty Palaces novel. Excellent urban fantasy with a horror twist, with a fascinating and unique backstory about magic and it's place in the world. One excellent idea is that spells in spell books decrease in power everytime they get passed down, until eventually spells just stop working or work so erratically that they're worthless.
