The next generation of gaming consoles will not see the light of day without taking out a huge chunk of your wallet. The average price of systems upon launch has always been in the 100-200 range. From the NES in the 80's with a pricetag of 199, to the PS2 just 4 years ago at 299. Microsoft will reason that the Xbox 360 bundle package is worth the 399 simply because of all the extra goodies that come with it. A wireless controller, the media remote, a headset, and the almighty HD. And while it may be true, that it would be more expensive to purchase all these extra's separately, the 399 price tag might still be a little too big to fit under the x-mas tree this year.
