The first graphic novel I ever read was Bram Stoker's Dracula in 5th grade. I barely remember a couple of pictures from that. Then several years later in jr high I found another graphic novel by the same artist, this time he did Frankenstein. I remember the pictures from that book a lot more. The worst part is that I could totally point out the artist if I ever saw either of those books again, but I have no clue who the artist is and there are 150 bazillion picture books about Dracula & Frankenstein out there so it's not like I'm going to get lucky finding the right one. I'd probably be better off trying to recreate the pictures I have in my mind from memory and hoping one of my friends recognizes the artist. I probably could.
There was another fantasy book I remember reading when I was young. It was about an old wizard telling an earlier story about his life to his apprentice. The King at the time was very suspicious of the nobles in his circle poisoning his goblet, so he commissioned the Wizard to magically construct one from a unicorn horn because the poison would be ineffective if it was put in a unicorn goblet. After a series of adventures and new companions, the Wizard finally obtains the unicorn horn and makes the goblet. As the King is drinking from his new goblet, an assassin's arrow streaks out from nowhere and nicks the king on his wrist, killing him and rendering the Wizard's entire quest pointless. Another book where I don't know the specific details about, but could totally point it out if it was in front of me.
I wish I knew more information of either of these stories, but I think this is one of the few times where even Google is useless to me.
