Three items of good news to share with you all tonight:
1. Windycon was awesome. I had an amazing weekend spending time with my bandmates and friends both local and far away. I got to play a very successful CD release concert, have a delicious lunch with
tankmancr and catch up with him, converse and relax with people I care about, and (probably most fun of all) be in music circles with a lot of phenomenally talented people without feeling like an impostor. It was a great experience that I know I will look back on fondly during the long, stressful, baby-filled, and convention-less months between now and MarsCon. Thanks to
gundo for inviting us back for the second year, and to everybody else who came to my show and made music with and generally helped to make it such a fun, relaxing, and memorable weekend.
2. I do not have gestational diabetes!
3. Probably the best news of all, at least at the moment:
The new EP by Beth Kinderman & the Player Characters, "Winter Is Coming," is now available for download at Bandcamp. It will only cost you $5, you can stream the entire album for free before you buy it, and you can download it in pretty much any audio format imaginable. Moreover, I feel very comfortable speaking for my bandmates in saying that this is the best record we have ever made together and that we are all incredibly proud of what we've accomplished with these songs. We would really love it if you would support our work and our continued development as a band by purchasing this record.
(If you are old school and still prefer to have your music sent to you on a shiny round metal thing, we did have a small print run of physical CDs made, and I am happy to sell those to you through the mail if you can't make it to a show to get one from me. The price for those would be $5 plus $3 for shipping, payable to my Paypal account at belovedporcupine@gmail.com. If you have any questions about ordering CDs from me, you can email me at the same address. However, if you buy from Bandcamp, you get a bonus hidden track that you will NOT get on the physical CD, so I definitely recommend the digital download in this instance.)
The rest of the PCs' albums will also be going up on Bandcamp at some point in the very near future. I'll also be updating my website with information about all of this at some point in time that is not tonight, since it's getting pretty close to bedtime for me. But still! Happy news all around.
