the show must go on

Nov 07, 2011 21:43

As of Friday, I am officially in my third trimester. My thoughts about this are as follows: "oh crap." I don't think I could feel any less prepared to have a baby in approximately 12 weeks if I tried. I know this does not necessarily mean that I am actually that unprepared, it just feels that way. Then again it's not like I've really had anything approximating the feelings that everybody tells me I'm supposed to be having about pregnancy, so this should probably come as no surprise to anyone.

Due to my increasing discomfort and my ever-lengthening list of things to do, it looks likely that the Player Characters have performed their last Twin Cities area show until 2012. That's probably okay since my belly is starting to get in the way of my guitar anyway - I just hope I can actually get back into playing shows fairly regularly in the spring with a minimum of fuss and anguish. Still, if you are reading this post and you are going to be in the Chicago area this Saturday, November 12, you have one more chance to hear us play our EP release show for Winter Is Coming at Windycon 38 at the Westin Hotel in Lombard. We go on at 7 p.m. in Lilac B. I will also be at the con and in its music circles all weekend with my bandmates. If you can be there, I would love to see you and hang out.

Speaking of Winter Is Coming, after I get back from Windycon I'll make another post talking about how you can buy it. We intend for this to be mainly a digital release with the majority of sales being made through a yet-to-be-fully-set-up Bandcamp site, so I will give you that link when it's ready and suggest that as the place you purchase it from. However, if you absolutely cannot do MP3s or want to have the physical version for some reason, we are also doing a very brief press run of CDs and there will be a way to get hooked up with that too. Watch this space for more details in a week or so.

And with that I think it is time to go to sleep.
