on second thought a TV hiatus is probably good for me

What is this crap where we have to wait now until January 21 for new Supernatural episodes? Seriously. *cranky*

I ultimately did decide to go to karaoke tomorrow night. Derby is fun and all but in the end I was in the mood for something a little more participatory. Like I said before, if anybody reading this is interested in coming along, get in touch with me and we can meet up at the VFW or something. (c: Otherwise, I intend to spend the weekend getting the house to be less of a disgusting pit, and getting caught up on plot summaries - I'm 5 behind now, which is the worst it's ever been, and it would be really good if I could close that gap a little. Plus, we only have 4 sessions left, and I don't want to still be writing these things when I've already moved on to running Hunter: The Vigil.

Anyway, to give this post something resembling substance, here are a couple of music-news-related factoids:

If you are going to be in or around Eau Claire, Wisconsin on Friday, November 27 (Black Friday), Beth Kinderman & the Player Characters will be performing at the Acoustic Cafe that night. This will be the largest number of PCs who have yet descended upon Wisconsin, so if you've only seen me solo or duo there before, this will be much more representative of my sound. The show begins at 7 p.m. and also features local musicians Savannah Smith and Sarah Jade; the PCs will perform at about 8 p.m. Admission is free and we welcome your tips. Nothing could be more relaxing than to listen to some nerdy music after a long, hard day of shopping at Oakwood Mall!

Also, this week "Mary Sue" is at #17 on the Mad Music Dementia Top 20. Thank you so much for your continued support - this is the longest I've ever had a song on the charts! Please keep voting and don't let "Mary Sue" go away just yet! This is how you do it:

1. Register an account at The Mad Music Archive, if you haven't already.
2. Then go here and click "Vote" in the sidebar.
3. Check the boxes next to "Mary Sue" and any other songs you might like to vote for (you can do it once per week). You can also vote for other songs from their individual song pages by searching for the on the Mad Music Archive.
4. Ideally, watch "Mary Sue" rocket up the charts.
5. ???
6. Profit!

Also, DJ Particle asked me to make clear that "Although you can only vote for each song once per week, you can over the course of the week go back and amend your ballot, as new songs are added every day." So if you've just discovered a great funny song that deserves your vote, you can always return to the voting page and add it to your tally.
