yes tis a sad generation for PC Gamers, you goto a store you see 2 rows for xbox 2 rows for ps2 and 1 row for PC Games, and most of those are crappy budget titles and games that were released prior to 2000.
That's because PC gaming is dying. I can't think of an A-list title that's come out for PC that hasn't also come out for 3shitty, PS2 or Gamecube and honestly most people are tired of trying to stay ahead of the hardware curve, so they buy a console that's guaranteed to play the games they want.
Regarding WalMart~~I refuse to buy games there primarily because of the selection (or lack thereof). Online or EB/Gamestop/etc is the way to go, in my opinion.
So this explains why the boxes are smaller now... Though the bix boxes are prevalant in the wireless gaming adapters (I'm looking at you Net Gear and Belkin.)
I also shop at Gamestop.com... There are only 2 reasons I would go to Wall-mart: PC Gamer (The bastards at Raleys took it off the magazine racks) and the new OPM. Or GameFly works too, execpt not all the games can be kept.
Jerky........enmitywithinApril 17 2006, 04:04:20 UTC
-Reporting from outside the newest Wal-Mart in Saskatoon, where he has just purchased a pack of beef jerky mmmm, jerky. wait, you buy it at like 10 pm?
On the other hand, Wal-Mart is credited with discovering a demographic largely ignored by the gaming industry, the so-called "mass-market gamer." These consumers don't have a gig of RAM, the fastest CPU, or a top of the line video card. And they definitely don't like the idea of plunking down sixty bucks for a game they might play for a couple of hours on the weekend. Titles like Deer Hunter and Bass Fisherman do exceedingly well with this demographic. The only reason I go to Wal-Mart for maybe, 1/3 of my games. however I do not like how they only have original diablo 2 and then the battlechest, no expansion pack only. (pet peeve)
If the largest chain of stores in the world won't carry a game, is it worth making?to me that sounds like "if no one will buy my art, what's the point in drawing? God I wish some company would do it just because it's a damn artform. retailers be damned

Correction: Sloppy Joes WERE people. Now they're a mixture of ground up gofers, various birds, and some pig's blood thrown in for flavor. If you're lucky, that is. If you're not, well, you're better off not knowing.

This also probably explains why I haven't found any good PC-exclusive games these days...
