I see more and more editorials bashing Video Game Legislation. I can only presume they are reading my study....

However I object to one of these statements:
"And, as we all know only too well, once we cease to respect the humanity of other people, violence is the natural result."

I ceased to respect humanity of other people almost 15 years ago, I have yet to turn violent. I only pity humanity in its absurd ignorance.

Me too. However, individual humans, I have been known to take a liking to. What is it about us humans, that we resort to unthinking mobs faster than I can blink?

The IQ of a mob is that if the dumbest member minus the number of members in the mob. This is a scientific fact... and completely undisputed.

I thought it was the IQ of the dumbest *divided* by the number of people in the mob. :P

How you inspire us. Especially you, K. "A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky, dangerous animals and you know it."

I still have respect for humanity. You know, the part of humanity untouched by stupidity, corruption and bias. You know, unborn children.

But then again, they're pretty tasty, too. I respect tasty snacks.

well personally not fond of fetus stew, but sure to some they are tasty.

I prefer my late night snacks to be young nubile, wear night gowns, and have a penchant for leaving windows open..

I've heard cold placenta sandwiches are quite good the following day... ;)

Score two Pratchett references in one story! We're on a roll! :P

technically it was a dracula rip off in a couple of the witch's books, Carpe Jugulum and Witch's Abroad (one of my personal favorite.)

After reading most of the discworld (twice) people wonder why i am cynical, or is it i have read most of the discworld books twice because I am cynical?

My fav is "Thief of Time".

I figure I'm already cynical, and so I get the cynical jokes. :P

I'm really fond of Night Watch, meself. Though the terms "Men in Saffron" and "No Such Monastery" in Thief of Time are hilarious.

And the majority of Pratchett's work isn't cynical (except when viewed through Vimes) - it's kind of gritty humour, realist fantasy. So sue me, I like it.

I agree. I lost faith in humanity a long time ago. Yet I choose to work a job that helps people instead of hurt them. And I enjoy what I do.
