Sounds like Assault to me ... verbinator March 13 2006, 04:34:49 UTC
I think the definition of "assault" involves both actually threatening or making the victim feel that he or she is threatened by the assailant.

Time to file another round of complaints with the Florida Bar Association.

Anyway ... isn't the content in the wikipedia supposed to be only those entries which can be verified by previously printed documentation? Facts, not opinions?

Assault applies more to threats to physically harm the subject I think. See my comment a little further down.

Though I would have to believe that somewhere in the vast expanse of US Tort law, there would be something that covers making threats of this nature against another individual.

In the UK, there is "harassment" (and everybody's favourite, "antisocial behaviour") for this sort of thing, I'd imaging that there's something similar in US Law.

Jack Thompson: Censor of the Year.

I can't even begin to describe my embarassment when he goes on these crazy crusades. It's not even bad enough to say that I'm from the same country, but that we both happen to be homo sapiens. It sickens me that someone could be so inhumanly evil towards other humans.

Yeah, I am considering renouncing my citizenship to Sol 3 and getting out of dodge. I hear Mars is great this time of year.

I'll volunteer to be on the crew of the first manned mission out there. Just to get the hell away.

Interesting. brianj012 March 13 2006, 04:38:09 UTC
We all know his track record for ultimatums. I am thinking that if he actually carried through on his thread to sue every Tom, Dick, and Harry he threatened to he would get thrown up on a list of vexatious litigators quite promptly.

Judging by JT's lust for attention, it was probably his excitement about being in the news again coming to an.....er, climax, as he was typing out the subject line. He probably had to go and change his shorts after clicking 'send'.

Jack has no case against Wikipedia. Case closed. So he should practice what he preaches: Grow up and get a life, Jack.
