The staircase down to the baths seemed to wind on for ages, one endless step after another. Lysa had never bothered with them, she hated the long walk and preferred to take her baths in her room, where the only difficulty was hauling water to her. But down here the baths were fed by an underground hot spring, one of the scattered few below the Neck, always warm, with the faint smell of mountain air to the steam. Just because his late wife never cared much for them didn't mean they went entire unused. Young Lord Robin couldn't manage the stairs either in his delicate condition and that made it all the more appealing for Sansa, who savored every moment alone she could find.
Bastardy had opened up a certain independence in the girl. At King's Landing she was always surrounded by her ladies, and in Winterfell before it there had been septas and siblings and other young ladies always in her presence. Here she was nothing more than a baseborn daughter, and she could dismiss the few maids the Vale allowed her. They were Stones as well as she was and feigning embarrassment for having them help her with things she could do herself was not a difficult task. She found ways to amuse herself, cherishing the silence and the freedom to be alone if she wanted it. Petyr knew all these things because the girl was rarely ever truly alone; if he wasn't watching her, he always knew where she was and what she was doing. The old Spider may have had his little birds in King's Landing, but Petyr had every pair of eyes in the Vale.
Her maid was all too willing to tell Lord Baelish where Alayne had gone, and he began the unyielding decent without a second thought. It wasn't just a place for Sansa to be alone, but it was a place for him to be alone with her as well.

Very nice! I love fics where Sansa has this incredible control over him without even really trying. I especially love the fact that this is from Petyr's POV (which is so rarely done) and that he knows that this is weak of hom, something he should have left behind, but he really can't stop himself.
I knew that I had to do it from his POV. I think that it's such a sticky situation he's in here that playing through his guilt and conflict humanizes him a lot more. I'm glad you enjoyed it! :D
