Renata St. James - Sarah Paulson
Renata is from an old family that used to have a lot of money in the more recent generations haven't had the same ambitious drive and are now of modest means but the tradition of pretentious names has continued unabated - ask Renata and her sister Etherea and her father Upton. Renata has never really found her niche but at the moment runs a small independent bookstore in a small town in Connecticut. Most of all Renata is just trying to live her life like a normal person - free of the ghosts of her family's past and also free of the family "gift." Not every member of her family has it and it doesn't skip people in any predictable way. She and her mother (but not her sister) have the ability to shapeshift into the form of animals. They can shapeshift into any animal but they have a main spirit animal and Renata's is an arctic fox. Which came first, the spirit animal or the name, is a mystery. Renata prefers to lay low and very rarely uses her special talent as it doesn't really have any practical purpose.
