The story is meant to be...mysterious and leave some parts unexplained and unclear. Also I know that there are most likely things that the reader would interpret another way than what my intention was, but that is okay and natural, I guess.
I would say you got Gikwang right, too. ;D He is somehow Yoseob's desire, or his heart's desire to be loved.
Dongwoon is actually a very complicated character in this story. I wanted to make much more of him but I was getting stressed by the deadline and it would have gotten way too long if I would've tried to explain his character more. Who knows, who he really is? ;D Well, I didn't think that Yoseob knew Dongwoon before, but I kinda like that interpretation a lot. But I have to defend Dongwoonie, ;D because - as I see it - he did the biggest part in saving Yoseob.
Dongwoon kinda gave Yoseob the strenght he needed to break free through his stories. Somehow, through this stories he managed to develop the imaginary person's inside Yoseob's mind that are indeed projections of parts of Yoseob himself.
Every story Dongwoon wrote represents a step in Yoseob's way towards freedom. First Yoseob is trapped. Then he starts to get suspicous of the ones he trusted (aka his boyfriend who is just an asshole I needed to make this story work ;D) and in the end he starts to fight and takes this fight into his reality and breaks free.
Also every italicized part with Dongwoon in it is something Dongwoon wrote. Those without him are purely Yoseob's imagination and a way for him to escape from his terrible reality for a moment.
I shouldn't be explaining too much though since I believe the story should be free to be interpreted by whoever reads it. (Thank you again for finding the time and the patience to read this!!! :D) Maybe the best way to explain everything would be: a little bit of magic. ;)
Thank you so much. Have an awefully long response after reading an awefully long story. ;D Thank you so much! Luv you for commeting! <333333
