Surgery
My wisdom teeth removal went fairly well. I went in Friday morning at 11 and was out by about 12:30. When we first got there, I was really nervous. When I got back into the room, they gave me some laughing gas to relax me. It worked because as the time passed I felt myself becoming more and more relaxed. Then the dentist came in to put my IV in. He attempted twice to put it into my right arm, as the blood pressure cuff was on my left. When that failed, I told him they always take blood from my right arm and he'd probably have more luck there. So he took the blood pressure cuff off and attempted to find a vein. He did! Then the blood pressure cuff started to take my blood pressure but it was no longer hooked up to me, so I made the joke to the nurse that I was dead and it couldn't take my blood pressure. That's the last thing I remember. LOL! After that, I woke up with an extremely dry mouth and I semi-freaked out. They brought my mom in and had me get up and leave. They said I was the easiest patient of the day. :) yay for me.
Friday went pretty well. Just slept some of the day and took pain meds. I had to have gauze in my mouth til about 8:30 or so...that's when the bleeding finally stopped. We had El Chico for dinner...soup was good. ;)
Saturday I woke up and things were going great. After sitting around for a bit I was bored and convinced my mom that I could go out to eat. We went to Wild Wing where I managed to eat some chicken...though it took about 1.5 hours! LOL! Afterwards, we went to see the movie Step Up. Then it was home and resting on the couch.
Sunday wasn't so good. I didn't eat enough when I took my pain meds so I threw up and then slept the whole day.
Monday morning mom had to leave. :(
I'm getting a little better. The swelling is finally going down and I don't need the pain meds as often. I'm still rather tired. I slept most of yesterday and today. I was supposed to go back to work tomorrow, but I called off. After sleeping almost all of today, I figured it was best to have one more day of rest. I work Thursday and then have school on Friday! Yay school.
