I love that you and I have a personal canon that Peter plays instruments, ha ha. (Although he did seem pretty knowledgeable when he briefly played piano with Emma, so, who knows?)

I follow Jack_Velvet's fanon that "Peter was a punk rocker" (it's a story of his). Which is that in high school Peter was in band, and had a garage band with some of his friends where Peter mainly played keyboard, but sometimes guitar.

It just seems to fit. And I agree that he seemed pretty knowledgeable at the piano with Emma.
