Do you know what's going on in my house right now?
Do you?
NOTHING!!!!
Yay! I have the house to myself. And it's been that way for a whole hour. No one here. Woo-hoo! I haven't had to talk to anyone. No phone calls. No getting ready. No nothing. That's awesome! I'm thinking about changing clothes and walking around in the back yard just cuz I can. Wow, this is cool.
So my boyfriend took my kids to the Tulsa state fair and I got to go to work and come home to an empty house for a few hours until they get back. I think I got the better end of the deal, but so does he, so it's win-win. I hadn't planned much for the weekend, so here's some things off the top of my head that I want to do:
- Check my beehive again. From my class, I am told of the importance of weekly checks for the first year or so (exempting when it's fricking cold) so one becomes familiar with the doings of one's bees. So I'll do that again this weekend.
- Watch another Heroes episode. It's awesome-cool. Comment on it or not. At least post to say I watched it. Me and means2bhuman are doing a very informal rewatch on heroes_fic. You're free to join in, but we're not promising to live up to any standards.
- Move the dresser my mother found somewhere and gave to us up to my son's room.
- Bread and cinnamon rolls
- Food prep for the week on Sunday, which means going shopping on Sunday
- Brazilian jujitsu on Saturday, hopefully with my son's friend. I got into it a bit with son's friend's mother last week because she messaged me about how my daughter was a reborn psychic healer who would be drawn to sick children and the mother and I needed to work together to protect my daughter from her natural impulses. Um ... NO. And stop telling my daughter about your spiritualism. Just because I smiled and nodded and showed respect when you told me about your religion does not mean I'm a fellow believer or want you pressing your faith on my children. I told her this as politely as I could manage and she didn't message me anymore. So ... I dunno where things stand there. I'll find out tomorrow when I go to pick up son's friend.
- Water some more stuff in the garden - blackberries, strawberries, maybe the asparagus. It hasn't been hot here, but it certainly hasn't rained and I don't want my stuff going into winter all stressed.
- Go roam around in the fields and see if I can stir up some ripe passionfruit. I doubt it, but I might as well look.
- Write?
- Drill exploratory holes in preparation to finally make that laundry chute from the second floor to the first?
- Oh, take my Magic: The Gathering cards to Tulsa tomorrow to see if some gamers want to buy them. I haven't played in 20 years. I might as well rehome them.
- My boyfriend's been agitating to go to a nice restaurant. He has some gift cards he wants to use up.
- Post an MBU chapter. It's the last we have edited.
- Keep up on MBU. I am totally hot and jonesing for where the story is right now. It's all kinds of awesome!
- Do something with the corned beef I've been corning since Monday. Maybe by Sunday it will be ready to ... um, do whatever it is you're supposed to do with corned beef. I love corned beef, but I've never made it from scratch (a piece of meat, a bunch of spices, different kinds of salt, and a multi-day brining process). If this works, though, I have some other cuts of meat I could do this way.
That's a kind of mixed-up list, chronologically. I'll do some of it. Maybe all. Last weekend, I got it all done!
