Towards the end of May, I will be flying to England for a week-long vacation with my boyfriend. His father has generously purchased us tickets and will be footing the bill for the hotel, so all I need do is come up with vacation days for time off from work and food money. It's awesome.
Right now, we're brainstorming our itinerary. He's been to England several times before and is a great fan of all things English, from English breakfast to Who, Dr. My admiration of English culture is quite a bit less than his, but I'm sure it's a fascinating place to visit and I look forward to learning more about it, first-hand.
One subject was the matter of seeing friends whom we wouldn't otherwise possibly ever have a chance to meet in person again. I don't have a lot of friends, but there are lovely folk here on LJ that I talk with and I think a few of you might be in or around England. If you are, and you're interested in exploring the possibility of a public face-to-face, maybe lunch somewhere, PM me. We're planning on staying in the London area with a detour over to Paris at some point, so anyone in France might have a chance, too.
Anyone who wants to chime in with what we ought to go see while we're there, please feel free to do so!
