Sylar was aimlessly wandering two aisles away, behind the nurse but within conversation distance, seeking to hold the boredom and impatience at bay with mild curiosity. It was a good thing Sylar had fled after his exposition. It left Peter frustratingly unable to reply to what had been said and after a few hours, all that remained firmly in his memory was what he thought Sylar had meant . That was different from the words themselves. It was a few hours later (and Sylar still nowhere to be found) when Peter began to mull over what it meant for him, for Sylar to mean that. The words said turned into Sylar’s meaning which morphed into the significance of that meaning between them … and then there was what Peter wanted to do about it. He spent more hours on the roof in the dark, staring up at the stars and scudding clouds as he thought
