I am **EXTREMELY** anti-cop. And very, VERY prejudiced against what passes for a justice system. It's been nearly two years and I can't get divorced from my asshole of an ex. My neighbor's kid molested mine and they wouldn't prosecute. Then there's the crap with my sister. And the stuff during college. And the sex offender registry BS. And people getting framed. And the incredible rate of plea bargains. The uselessness of protective orders. That ...
I'll stop there.
But back to the anti-cop thing, the BDSM club had a cop who was in the lifestyle come talk to everyone about how to interact with cops if you ever dealt with one. And I've read the directions to OWS protestors, which was the same advice. And there's that longish video I watched a couple months back by an attorney and a policeman about how it's in your best interests to NEVER talk to the cops beyond the most simple and necessary answers. All of these sources told me the same thing: tell them no more than "Yes", "No", or "I want to talk to my attorney".
The cops are friends of no one. It is their JOB to be the enemy of EVERYONE (except the other members of the law enforcement agencies, and even that's tenuous).

It goes without saying that I am pissed off on your behalf.
