Hello there!

Today's episode is "Building 26", part of the season 3 arc, "Fugitives". I'll start commenting around 6 pm Central US Daylight Savings Time. Heroes wiki tells me that these exciting events happen in the show:
  • Nathan's plans are justified to the President.
  • Sylar and Luke Campbell continue their trip towards Sylar's father.
  • Claire receives a ( Read more... )

That's fine. I'll just be freer with the "pause" button while I write my thoughts.

I always pause whilst I'm writing, just because I find it difficult to type and watch at the same time, or I'll miss stuff that I wanted to write about.

Yep, exactly. But one thing about me being ahead of you two is that I don't feel rushed about it now!

Yay! For once I'm at home on my computer on a Sunday and have already eaten and don't have anything that I have to do. Totally free to do a rewatch. Should I start the episode now?

Yes, yes! Start! I'm at 6 minutes in, but paused it to answer this. And maybe get a munchie.

Hi! I'm Dana, not sure if we've talked before. I've seen you around here before, but I didn't know you were a Heroes fan.

Hi! We haven't actually talked although I have read some of your fics (which are lovely by the way), but yes I am a big Heroes fan and lover of Petlar. ;)

Good intro.

Sandra sits at the table holding Mr. Muggles. Ha. Consultants. That's so vague. Oh wow, that edge to Sandra's voice when she asked Noah's opinion on the colleges. She is *seriously* detecting a problem.

Now why can't they tell Sandra and Lyle what's going on again? I don't remember Sandra almost getting them killed because she knew.

Claire is just as much a prisoner in Noah's house as she was going to be before.

Why do they care about the freaking Bennet girl? There's so many others to worry about! Oh, yeah, the plane crash. That would ... yeah, that kind of explains why they're upset at her.

Oh, damn, I gotta go freeze the screen on that bulletin board.

"Pie" makes a mention again! With odd emphasis, too, like Luke knows Sylar loves pie. Which he shouldn't know.

Hey, that's the roadside where Sylar clocks that tow truck driver upside the head!

That's funny. The dog's allowed at the table - cell phone? Not so much.

Sorry. We're stupid here in the US and have a weird custom called "Daylight Savings Time", which means that once a year in the spring, we move our clocks forward an hour. Then in the fall, we move them backwards an hour. Except in Arizona, and part of Ohio (I think), and a few other places. The date of this time-changing is altered every year, so you can't even say "always April 5th" or "always the 10th week of the year" or whatever.

The time change is always put at 2 am on a Sunday morning. So this morning, here in the US, we all (mostly all of us) changed our time by an hour.

Oh, we do the same thing, but at a different time, I'm guessing. It'll be in a few weeks, its generally around Easter for us.
Just looked it up. 25th March :)

Actually this is more ideal for me, at the moment, because I'll get to go to bed before 1am :)

Huh, so other parts of the world engage in that silliness with the clocks, too, huh? Here I'd thought it was a US thing.

I love Sandra. I always thought she and Noah had the best romantic relationship (that was fully acknowledged) on the show. I hated that they screwed things up between them, but that's Heroes for you, there one biggest flaw was never committing to any one relationship.

Also I love how Sylar didn't think he was a serial killer. How did he not acknowledge it before then? He's so very Gabriel during this part of the season.

I like that denial.

I, too, wish they'd instead had Noah share the truth with Sandra and that she'd surprised him by bucking up, accepting it, and working as a team with him. But so few dramas can stand to have that happen, instead being tempted to exploit every possible tension between characters. That's nice and all, but for contrast you need to have a stable relationship in there, too. Otherwise it's endless turmoil.

Exactly. I think that was always Heroes biggest problem, the relationship drama always fell apart and made you not really care in the end. The writers even acknowledged it and yet they continued to do it, I just don't get it.

I agree with you about Sandra/Noah. I was...okay about their break-up even if I didn't like it, like it. I was happy Sandra got a happy ending of sorts - unheard of on Heroes! And Noah was forced to make a lot of (hopefully, semi-)good choices in S4. Their divorce was realistic but positive in that they could still talk, have holidays and interact with the kids in a healthy way for all.

Of course, if Noah had just gotten his act together...
