On vaccinations and other troubling parent decisions

Sep 02, 2008 10:07

The age old argument of "Are vaccinations safe?". Long story short, we have decided not to vaccinate Clara and she can get this done for herself at a later stage, should she feel the need.
Some of the research we've uncovered has been pretty interesting, and this Christchurch Doctor had "interesting things to say --> Interesting Things!.

We've also got both the books listed in that article, and only a few chapters in of Just a Little Prick, i've learnt that Whooping cough is fixed within DAYS overdosing on Vitamin C, and meningitis campaign propaganda has been selectively reducing the amount of information given out to the public in each of it's 10 year campaigns (For example, 4 in every 5 people carry the virus that causes meningitis, and yet it is serious in 1 of every 1000 people...).

What is also scary is the stuff on telly at the moment - That new advert for Prevenar? Is ANYONE out there actually retarded enough to be sucked in by the "Magical Aura of Protection" that is surrounding the lovely little babe? Really? 'Cos if you are, you need to get yourself some non-government sourced information. And while I'm on the rant - almost all the new cleaners (and some soaps) claim to kill 99% of all bacteria! That's awesome! Make the bacteria stronger!! So that when your immune system finally does come in contact with them, it will be so weak, you won't last the day out! WAAHOOOO!!

For goodness sake people - Have some intelligence. There's clean, and then there's marketed fear. Don't be a sucka!

rant, bebe
