Good lords...where is he?

The one who stolen my heart so? That damned brat, we did he run off too now?

Left all to my lonesome am I? Ah, a cruel jest even for his taste!

I must say, I never been in such a foul mood...

Rikku, I seek you as well but not in much of a loving fashion if you catch my meaning!

There seems to be quite a little backslash for the ( Read more... )

Yes, Balthier. I heard of Rikku's stunt as well, and of your response. I must say, I was quite disappointed in her, though I've not yet decided what to think of your reaction.

And what of it?

Have I yet to explain myself to you?
I find little need in explaining such but let's hear what you wish to think of me, here and now.

Seem quite too many know of this little tale, perhaps many of what others may know is lewd lies to further frame me of such unexpected deeds.

But I must say, why does such a topic interest you?
My dear, this shall naught be a topic for you to speak upon.

Yes, you must explain yourself, and you'd best do it quite thoroughly.

I am quite sure, as I've heard the tale from Rikku herself, that it is not a lewd lie, as you so eloquently put it.

Rikku is my cousin, Balthier. My younger cousin. I take responsibility for her actions, as I see myself as her guardian of sorts. Therefore, I believe that it is a topic for me to speak upon.

...Ohh...

I-I see! Oh well! Ahem!
That does certainly change this story, does it not?

Honestly so, I must confess...I had no idea.
If such kinship was to have been spoken beforehand then perhaps none of this would have happened!

But may I say in my defense, I was idly walking BY when the young miss lifted her shirt for the world to see!
Proving she was of age to two other gents who names do elude me!

Yes, it most certainly does.

Then you are saying that if you had known she was related to me, you would not have ogled her so? I find that hardly an acceptable excuse.

I will admit, it was not one of her more clever moments. But still, Balthier! I thought you were a gentleman. To even be walking by and see such a thing - had you not the decency to avert your eyes no matter who it was?

But why not? Why is it so that so many seem to think I should be playing the role of the pilriming monk?!

Lady Ashei-Yuna, in all respect...

Ah, I do see where such concern does play here!
I am a gentleman, in every sense of the word!
I should have simply averted my eyes and not stared upon her so, yes I know!

But I do admit...I have many flaws like any other.
My eyes should have never wandered so..that I believe is what is true here.

Even Vaan has scolded me for such...

Not a monk, Balthier. There is a difference between a monk and a gentleman.

... I cannot deny that everyone has their faults. I myself have many, though that is a discussion for perhaps another time.

I would expect nothing less from young Vaan. He has every right to have chastised you so.

I am just.. disappointed. In both you and my cousin. I cannot help that it pained me to learn of this, Balthier. And for it to have happend while I was... away.. I know not what to think of it.

Oh Yuna...
I wish not for you to be so disappointed in me...

It is far greater shame to fall so out of grace within your eyes now than any scolding I may have received from others of my peers!

I am terribly sorry, my dear Yuna.
I did not mean to come off as such a lout, weaknesses are true to every being but I strive for perfection always...so such a weakness is not excusable really.

I just wish that perhaps to learn from this not do the same mistake twice, kin or not.

I am better than that, I can assure you.

Oh... drat.

I am sorry as well, Balthier. I suppose that I may have... overreacted just a bit.

I know you are, friend. I know.

So that means you won't slap me anymore?
Heh, that is good.

Lady Yuna, I have not yet gotten a chance to see you..
You was gone for so long, I could not have looked for you during your absence, my dear.

So much...seems to be upon my shoulders now.
Once again I play the role of the caged bird.

Oh, I was never going to slap you!

Do not worry yourself about that, Balthier. It is in the past now.

If you are ever in need of someone to talk to, or just a cup of tea, I'm always here.

And you're just as coy as I remember you.

As you should. It was an invitation, after all.
