The Ballad of a Swiss Girl, or
The Danger of Being Too Sweet (For a Girl)
There was a little Swiss girl,
Whose sweetness was renowned,
But that became her downfall,
As one dreadful day she found.
The chocolatiers they took her,
They broke into her home.
The world is full of danger!
Don’t leave your sweets alone!
That little girl so slender
Much sweeter than a boy,
They put her in a blender,
Though she did not enjoy.
They put her in that blender,
Her screams rang out all night,
But they were softly laughing
And turned off all the lights.
She rests not in a graveyard,
Nor in a silver urn,
Because she’s now hot chocolate,
For her your children yearn.
So when you see the store shelf
With chocolates piled upon,
Pick up the little SwissMiss
And let her ‘life’ go on.
The lovely taste of chocolate,
Which you may now enjoy,
Came from a little Swiss girl,
Who so was not a boy...
Don’t be too sweet, my dear!
Or you may die this way,
And some amount of bitterness
Will keep bad men away.
:)))
