christmas and fire trucks...

Yesterday was an exciting day, after an agonizingly long speech giving thingy do we set about putting the finishing touches on the dinner party that we had organized for last night. We had appatizers and sangria in our room and then we had dinner in Sue's room with sushi, tempura, hard bars, lovely decorations, presents form Santa and a partially played game of triva. The reason we only partially played the game of triva is because as we were about 10 min in the fire alarm went off, now, many may have thought that it was a stupid time to have a fire drill, and I would agree except that I didn't have time to think that. As we decide that that is indeed the fire alarm the guy sitting next to me looks at me and says "oh my god, my room" leaps out of his chair and takes off running down the smoke filled hall. My first instint was to run to my room and get bunny and my computer but that would have involved going towards the fire so I nixed that idea. I turns out that after making the tempura the gas of the range had never been turned off and the grease eventually caught fire, it was extinguished twice before staying out, several fire trucks came, fire fighters everywhere, people opening the door before checking to see if there was going to be backdraft and the cook from Coco's running over in a chef's hat carrying a fire exstinguisher, oh what a night. After the fire I drank a sukoshi of wine at Coco's ate some ice cream, and in general, continued the fire while our friend explained over and over again to people how the fire started. oh and somewhere in there a fluresent light exploded just as the firemen entered the room so there was yells of "KAJI!!" (fire) and fire hoses unrolled and filled. oi vey.

now i must do work so that i may gain credit for my classes
