I`m back in the computer lab because of my unfortunate computer problems, the desk under my arms is vibrating because the disk drive on the other computer is crazy, I don`t know how long I`ll be able to hold out.
Today was a national holiday, I don`t know what for. Because of this we didn`t have school today. dakara (therefore) we went out last night, I drank a lot really fast because I didn`t want my sensitive stomach to know that I was drinking before I could drink enough to get drunk. Wow, seriously I just haven`t been able to get drunk since I got here because of the stupid stomach so I faught back. I do many things when drunk, a) I share way too much personal info, b) I fall down, c)I speak Japanese badly and loudly to people that actually speak Japanese and can call me out on the bullshit. We were celebrating Emily`s birthday as well and that was glorious.
Today we went to a Japanese barbaque, think labor day barbeque Japanese style. Lots of grilling but of things like eggplant and whole fish among other more normalish barbaque fare. We basically ate constantly for 6 hours and I`m sort of worn out by it, I have a test tomorrow that I haven`t really studied for but I was brought so low by the previous test that I have no motivation, I`m actually very down about my Japanese and I`m wishing I was a natural language learner or at least not someone who`s mental make up only allows them to memorize the kanji because they`re pictures but not what they mean or how they are pronounced. I would also like to be less scared of talking to people and actually be able to use something that I learned in class in conversation instead of falling back on old safe grammar patterns and never practicing the new stuff.
