Surfing!!!
thats right, you read correctly, Meghan went surfing this weekend!!
Okay, so the reality is that I suck at balancing on a long board and I kept falling over but it was still amazingly fun and I'm so glad for the adventure of it all. We had numerous traveling sanfus involving trains and ferrys and lying little men. We missed the last train into our desitnation by 15 minutes so we had to stay the night and spend more money than we wanted to (choke gasp) Once there there were a few unexpected costs so my spending budget was cut severly and we ended up budgeting the hell out of the rest of the trip so that we could pay the train fare home ): I arrived home with 441yen (about 4 dollars) and I'm fairly proud of myself for my mad math skills, who knows how to add? what what! but all in all it was excellent. A man stopped us on the train platform and asked us if we needed help, we were fine but he recommended we take the 6:30 express kobe line, now only my fellow japanese studyers will know this but kobe is in the opposite direction than hikone from osaka (hikone being where we wanted to go) so we rode that until the end of line because we were tired and delirious and I was too lazy to get up and look at the map even though none of the stations were familiar. whatever. But Shikoku (the little island we were on) and ikumi beach were absolutely beautiful. Speaking of prettyness, if you want to recieve my study abroad emails (almost exactly this but with cleaner language and pictures!) post here and I'll add you, I'm just too lazy to learn how to post pics here. I spend a lot of time trying to surf and getting my ass kicked by big motherf-ing waves and boogie boarding, like surfing but way easier 'cause you don't have to stand up. I also slept on the beach some 'cause thats how I roll. I'm sorry this is so fragmented I'm sleepy and hopped up on lots of caffine (:
