[REVIEW] ARASHI - 「ARE YOU HAPPY?」 ALBUM: OHCHAN, DON'T DO IT AGAIN!
Howdy guys!
So this time I would like to share my thoughts and opinion about Arashi’s latest album - Are You Happy?
This album was out in October 26th, 2016. Exactly one month before Ohchan’s birthday hehe! (now that’s some useless trivia). This album concepted as literally what the title said, are you happy? So apparently Arashi asked their fans if they are happy.
There are 17 songs including:
4 songs from single (Ai wo Sakebe, Fukkatsu LOVE, Daylight/I Seek)
13 new songs including 5 solo songs and 5 songs directed by each member.

01 - DRIVE [Supervised by Matsumoto Jun]
This song is fit if we go to somewhere a bit far, with a car. Definitely must listen it! The melody is somehow comforting the atmoshpere. I like it. I added it in my playlist which I use for study.
This song is directed by Matsumoto Jun. I can’t believe Matsujun can produced a leisurely melodies. :3
The lyric surely tells about an endless night and they just couldn’t sit down and do nothing, so they decided to have fun(?) SO MATSUJUN HAHAHA XD.

02 - I Seek
Ohchan’s drama song! ♥ everytime I listen to this song I always remember the coreography XDD. Oh, you must know what I mean :p that ‘Aah~ Tomerarenai Ima Nara ...’ ♥. Those hips omfg.
Since it’s for Ohchan’s drama, the song is about how Reiji (Ohchan’s Character) sees the perception of love. He fell in love with a woman but he just couldn’t sure about it, but he really want to in love with her.
To be honest the first time I listen to it I didn’t really like it. The intro was sure catchy but the reff wasn’t that interesting so. But I never skipped the song when it played on Ohchan’s drama XD so I began to like it.

03 - Ups and Downs
I immediately like the song the first time I listen to it! Ohchan’s ‘sou kizutsuitemo~’ gave me chills. And the reff is not bad too!
I’m so happy that the exact tone for Ohchan’s line in second verse is sang by Nino ‘sou kagayaiteru~’ you know in Arashi, I like Ohchan and Nino’s voice. And it made me happy that they sang in the same pitch and the same melodious tone ♥ And the bridge omfg Ohchan’s voice is just asdfhjklgasjgkla. I fell in love with Ohchan over and over again in this song.
And I couldn’t happy more with the meaning of the lyrics ♥ it tells about how we should not give up eventhough we’re so broken and tired of the shits we deal everyday. Instead of giving up we should challenge it. I’m so in love with the reff lyric:

04 - Seishun Boogie [Supervised by Aiba Masaki]
First impression: ENKA?! It’s quite rare for Arashi to sing this kind of genre. But then I listen to it until end. The reff is so catchy! XD well done, Aiba-chan!! Somehow I remembered AKB48’s Heavy Rotation’s line XD (I want you, I need you, I love you). This reff is ‘I love you I need you I want you’ with enka feels.
The lyric tells about a man that doesn’t give up with the woman he chase. It’s sweet but somehow I couldn’t stop smiling and laughing, don’t know why. XD :3 ♥ sasuga Aiba-chan~!

05 - Sunshine [Sakurai Sho’s solo]
This song has positive vibes. Really, you don’t have to listen the lyric thoroughly and you already can judge that this song is so positive it makes me smile all the way. I’m not kidding ♥.
The song itself tells about a peaceful morning, tells us to let go what happened last night and give positive feelings about the day onwards until it ends. Sakurai’s voice got better, I guess? Or it’s just the pitch that fit him very well ♥.
Above any else, you must listen to Sho’s ‘Good morning everyone~’ because I’m sure it would make you smile all the day, like I do. ♥

06 - Fukkatsu LOVE
Another single song got in the album! Hmm, can’t talk much about this song though. I don’t really like the melody. It’s kind of mellow but it’s crowd with so many instruments, so I just can’t get it.
The lyric tells about a story of a man that being left by his girlfriend, and he regret it. But then she come back, and he swear he never let her go again.
One nice thing is Matsujun’s ‘I miss you’ ♥ XD.

07 - Amore [Aiba Masaki’s solo]
The melodies is so fun I couldn’t believe that the lyric tells about so romantic phrases. ♥ It’s Aiba-chan anyway, what can you expect? XD. I don’t know why but I feel like he sing this in his ‘Disco Star’ form XDD. It’s funny yet romantic. I don’t know what to say anymore; that’s just perfectly Aiba Masaki we all knows. ♥
I love the first lyrics:

08 - Bad Boy [Ohno Satoshi’s solo]
Firstly of all, I’m so sorry that I don’t like this song the first time I hear it. Rather than dislike it, I feel sad. WHY DOES THE HEAVENLY GREAT VOICE OF OHCHAN MUST BE AUTOTUNED? Tell me, composer! Why?! I’m so not buying this song. :( I know maybe Ohchan tried something new, new genres and all but, just, don’t ever do this again, okay?! :(
Anyway, the song really tells us about a bad boy; a sexy teaser who is so sure that every woman would fall with him. And I’m so sorry Ohchan, I couldn’t help but laughing at your pronouncation XD I think Ohchan said ‘I’m a berry bad boy’ instead of ‘I’m a very bad boy’. I suggest you could throw the word ‘bad’ and change it to something else, Ohchan. XD
One positive thing about this though: I’m looking forward for the concert. I’m sure Ohchan’s gonna dance like a hellish sexy teaser OMFG ♥♥♥.

09 - Wonder Love [Supervised by Ninomiya Kazunari]
Okay so this song is quite unique in its own way. I like the melody! Usually we immediately know where is the intro, reff and bridge right? I had to play this song twice to make sure where is the reff and the bridge before reff. As expected of my favorite musician ♥
The lyric is quite unique too. I don’t really know what it means but apparently it simply a man falls in love with a woman; and that’s it. It spiced up with some robotic or space atmosphere; feels like the man is a robot or space being while the woman is a normal people in earth. So unique yet so cute, I tell you ♥

10 - Mata Kyou to Onaji Ashita ga Kuru [Ninomiya Kazunari’s solo]
First impression: ....EH? THE SONG IS ALREADY ENDED? Yeah. I litterally look at my phone to look at the song which is really already ended. Oh my, this song is fabulous. It’s like a story, don’t you think? I think I don’t listen to a song. It’s just Nino telling us a story. A brokenheart story. It’s a story about a brokenhearted man trying to forget his ex. Just as simple as that, the lyric too doesn’t contain that great phrases; it’s just simple phrases, YET IT’S SO BEAUTIFUL. The melodies, tones, everything is just perfect in the place.
It’s so unique, fabulous, marvelous, great, I could speak any words possible in english to show my gratitude toward this song. ♥
Oh, Nino, how I love you ♥ genious musician ♥
I think this kind of song is fit with Ohchan’s colour voice. I’d be dead in happiness if Ohchan ever try this song to sing. XD ♥

11 - Daylight
The song from double-A side single! And of course it’s a background song for Matsujun’s drama “99,9% Keiji Senmon Bengoshi”.
It tells about how there’s always a hope even in the darkness. Yeah, same as Matsujun’s character (Miyama) that always pursue for the 0,1% truth. :) never give up is the key. ‘Zero to goal’ it said.
I particularly like this one than ‘I Seek’. Sho’s rap in this song is just asdjakgfajgkalg hehehe ♥ I’m all weak if Sho use his low voice ♥

12 - Ai wo Sakebe
This one!! ♥♥♥ I like the choreography XDDD ♥. The music video concept and the lyric is quite overlapped with Maroon 5 - Sugar. Hmmm, a coincidence? Or not? Only God and management know hahaha XD. Apart of that, surely this tells about congratulating one’s wedding and they’re shouting their love XD (Ai wo Sakebe literally means Shouting Love).
A useless trivia though, I never get bored watching their Ai wo Sakebe performance during Kouhaku 2015. ♥

13 - Baby Blue [Matsumoto Jun’s solo]
JUUNNN!!!!! I don’t know but I feel that in this song Matsujun’s voice is so soft I couldn’t stand for hugging him tight #slapped. Maybe he’s trying to get into the song? Since the lyric tells about a man comforts his girlfriend because he’s gonna leaving or something like that.
When he sing ‘Oh baby blue, nakanaide hora...’ MY HEART. DANGER. IT COULD MELT ANYTIME I HEAR THAT LINE OMFG ♥.
I don’t know but, everytime I listen to this song I always imagine that Matsujun comforts Ohchan XDDD ♥ Oh, pardon my fangirl heart. But but but, I can understand the ‘baby’ word, but why ‘blue’? why? ♥ because blue stands for Ohchan, guys. Trust me. I’m a trustworthy fangirl. XD #slapped

14 - Miles Away [Supervised by Ohno Satoshi]
THIS IS MASTERPIECE, GUYS I TELL YOU NOW. YOU MUST LISTEN TO THIS SONG LIKE RIGHT NOW OR NEVER.
This is my favorite song on this album ♥ nah, to be honest too many songs that I like in this album so, probably I like them all but this one is definitely at the top. ♥
The song itself tells us about how they have their own ways, they’re far away from each other but they will still be as one and never forget each other, believing in the future. ♥
I like every single piece of this song really ♥♥♥ their harmonies are at its best, the lyric is just too beautiful to hear, the softening music ... I almost cry when I observe this song deeply. ♥
And don’t forget guys OHCHAN’S VOICE IS JUST TOO GREAT I COULD DIE FOR. Ohchan why are you so good at singing I’m crying over you ;___; to the point that I would follow you even if you got out of the Arashi.
Ohchan is good at making harmony tones I suppose. I’m so in love with Jun and Sho’s overlapped voice at ‘kasanaru fureezu’. and the bridge, I’m almost died of eargasm ♥ Nino and Ohchan’s overlapped voice too at ‘kasanaru fureezu’ made me shiver. Oh God just come to Indonesia and sing in front of me please ♥ XD.

15 - To My Homies [Supervised by Sakurai Sho]
Sho’s ‘Hey, what’s up? Are you there? How’s life? Heheh, just wondering, I’m enjoying it.’ is definitely killing me inside ♥♥♥ it’s like I’m on the phone with Sho XD pardon my delusional imagination.
The melody is definitely Sho’s as always. Sho-ppoi neee. I remembered his solo during Japonism ‘Hey Yeah!’ this song has the same scent with that one, don’t you think? And each member is rapping XD ♥ if I had to ranking the best member who has good rhythm in this song: Sho (of course), Matsujun, Nino, Ohchan, Aiba-chan. ♥
The lyric tells us to accept whatever fate might be facing us with a trust, to walk leisurely to catch our dream. Catching our dream not with that hurried fired motivation but with slowly and keep remembering the promise. ♥

This is the song that has music video. I feel this song is .... chic. ♥ it’s like, beautifully fun. It’s not just a fun song, it’s beautiful. Do you know the difference? It’s not promptly made. It’s quite full colour ♥
The lyric is fun too! Arashi tells us to fighting whatever our condition might be, and not to proscrastinate things to do. ♥
When I see the video, I laughed so much but then in the end of the video I suddenly let out a teardrop. No, I’m not crying because I laughed too much but, I feel like I got encourage by this song, and I’m so in love with Arashi I can’t help it. I just ... ♥♥♥ Don’t you get my feels? ♥

You know a phrase grande? That describes this song perfectly. ♥
This song literally asks us to dance tango XD. With some seducing lyrics of course ♥ again, Sho’s line make my heart sinking ♥ his line ‘hanasanai tonight~’ oh my Sho, I won’t go everywhere ♥
I immediately like this song the first time I listen to it. I imagine Arashi would dance with cool and sexy side of them. Oohh ♥♥♥ I really can’t wait for the DVD. I wish I could see the concert though. :(

To sum it up, I like all of the songs except Ohchan’s solo. Sorry Ohchan, but never ever try that kind of genre again! I know maybe EDM is currently hype in Japan now (which is sooo out of date, anyway...) but your voice just doesn’t fit with the music. I hope you’ll do the safe route from now on.

Why I like this album so much that I cry in some of the songs above?
You know currently my real life, I’m so stressed about many things. Family, college, grades, organization, friends, tasks, duties ... I’m so fed up with those to the point I don’t give any fuck about my dreams anymore.
But then this album was out and it’s just came at the right time. At me who is so hopeless about my own life. Hearing all the songs of this album, made me get a bit motivated again. Everytime I would crash into a mess, I would listen to the songs. I would fall for Arashi over and over again. ♥ I don’t care, Arashi saves my life and I love them so much I could cry a river for them ♥♥♥
So thank you, Arashi. Thank you for being there for me. As expected of national idol group, you’re a properly idol group after all (LOL). Idol’s job is to give one’s hope and happiness, no? And well done, Arashi, you’ve saved my my life and I love you so much. ♥

PS: Until now I still don’t know why Ohchan and Nino chose to become an idol instead of being a musician or another job. Their talent is too great for an idol whose job is just giving their fans dreams and encouragement. I’m sure if Ohchan and Nino chose another job that suit them better, they would be as famous as now. They got a great talent, really. It’s such a waste time for them to do job as idols.
Well yeah, idols can explore their another talent too; newscaster, painter, writer, fisher(?), etc. But I think it would be great and better if people like Ohchan and Nino could focus on their talent. I mean not really have another skill idols must have (variety skills, smiley skill(?), fanservices, etc).

Ohchan is good at making harmony tones I suppose. I’m so in love with Jun and Sho’s overlapped voice at ‘kasanaru fureezu’. and the bridge, I’m almost died of eargasm ♥ Nino and Ohchan’s overlapped voice too at ‘kasanaru fureezu’ made me shiver. Oh God just come to Indonesia and sing in front of me please ♥ XD.

Sho’s ‘Hey, what’s up? Are you there? How’s life? Heheh, just wondering, I’m enjoying it.’ is definitely killing me inside ♥♥♥ it’s like I’m on the phone with Sho XD pardon my delusional imagination.
The melody is definitely Sho’s as always. Sho-ppoi neee. I remembered his solo during Japonism ‘Hey Yeah!’ this song has the same scent with that one, don’t you think? And each member is rapping XD ♥ if I had to ranking the best member who has good rhythm in this song: Sho (of course), Matsujun, Nino, Ohchan, Aiba-chan. ♥
The lyric tells us to accept whatever fate might be facing us with a trust, to walk leisurely to catch our dream. Catching our dream not with that hurried fired motivation but with slowly and keep remembering the promise. ♥

This is the song that has music video. I feel this song is .... chic. ♥ it’s like, beautifully fun. It’s not just a fun song, it’s beautiful. Do you know the difference? It’s not promptly made. It’s quite full colour ♥
The lyric is fun too! Arashi tells us to fighting whatever our condition might be, and not to proscrastinate things to do. ♥
When I see the video, I laughed so much but then in the end of the video I suddenly let out a teardrop. No, I’m not crying because I laughed too much but, I feel like I got encourage by this song, and I’m so in love with Arashi I can’t help it. I just ... ♥♥♥ Don’t you get my feels? ♥

You know a phrase grande? That describes this song perfectly. ♥
This song literally asks us to dance tango XD. With some seducing lyrics of course ♥ again, Sho’s line make my heart sinking ♥ his line ‘hanasanai tonight~’ oh my Sho, I won’t go everywhere ♥
I immediately like this song the first time I listen to it. I imagine Arashi would dance with cool and sexy side of them. Oohh ♥♥♥ I really can’t wait for the DVD. I wish I could see the concert though. :(

To sum it up, I like all of the songs except Ohchan’s solo. Sorry Ohchan, but never ever try that kind of genre again! I know maybe EDM is currently hype in Japan now (which is sooo out of date, anyway...) but your voice just doesn’t fit with the music. I hope you’ll do the safe route from now on.

Why I like this album so much that I cry in some of the songs above?
You know currently my real life, I’m so stressed about many things. Family, college, grades, organization, friends, tasks, duties ... I’m so fed up with those to the point I don’t give any fuck about my dreams anymore.
But then this album was out and it’s just came at the right time. At me who is so hopeless about my own life. Hearing all the songs of this album, made me get a bit motivated again. Everytime I would crash into a mess, I would listen to the songs. I would fall for Arashi over and over again. ♥ I don’t care, Arashi saves my life and I love them so much I could cry a river for them ♥♥♥
So thank you, Arashi. Thank you for being there for me. As expected of national idol group, you’re a properly idol group after all (LOL). Idol’s job is to give one’s hope and happiness, no? And well done, Arashi, you’ve saved my my life and I love you so much. ♥

PS: Until now I still don’t know why Ohchan and Nino chose to become an idol instead of being a musician or another job. Their talent is too great for an idol whose job is just giving their fans dreams and encouragement. I’m sure if Ohchan and Nino chose another job that suit them better, they would be as famous as now. They got a great talent, really. It’s such a waste time for them to do job as idols.
Well yeah, idols can explore their another talent too; newscaster, painter, writer, fisher(?), etc. But I think it would be great and better if people like Ohchan and Nino could focus on their talent. I mean not really have another skill idols must have (variety skills, smiley skill(?), fanservices, etc).
