Ok, so what's the deal? I just met the coolest guy ever...in Kopps while waiting for food. Didn't get a number, didn't get an email. All I know is that his name is Ashley, he is black, has dread's, used to attend Milwaukee but is taking the semester off because he hung out in bars listening to too much jazz...
well, whatever, you guys don't care about that.
I don't get why I am so good at meeting people in random places, but so hard in nice controlled environments (aka a classroom). I was perfectly natural around this guy. In classes I'm always on edge; either because I'm scared the teacher won't call on me (I definitely feel my heart pound whenever a teacher calls on me) or because I just don't feel...well, natural. Whenever I'm talking to a random person in class I am always trying to think of new things to say. Awkward silences are death for me! When it's just a random meeting awkward silences signal the end to a conversation...but because I'm not worrying about the conversation ending and am just letting it flow naturally it always ends up that I am able to sustain a much longer (and much more enjoyable) conversation. So, how do I turn a random meeting at Kopps into a lesson?!
Then again, maybe I don't need to learn a lesson. Maybe this is just the way I meet sweet people.
Anyways, I've been listening to a lot of sweet 90's hip/hop/rap. I also just got the newest saul williams CD. I don't think it's nearly as good as his first one (Amethyst Rock Star (no idea how to spell it)) but it's still really good. I ordered a M83 cd as well, and it should be coming soon! YES!
Oh, anyone else want to kill that fucking bear in my mood markers?
