Oh, yeah, those... doll things
Yeah, I've been kind of quiet. Not for lack of dollery, just a lack of real desire to talk about them.
Honestly, a lot of neat stuff has happened--I finally got good wigs for the Yukinojo (his name is now Beau, apparently) and for the F17 (who remains Fahrenheit, for reasons of uhhh shut up), and I also got my test cast of armeleia's Inkling doll, who is adorable and so teeny that I have nothing that fits her. (There's a Bratz-type corset top that fits her pretty well, actually, but the skirt that goes with it is hilariously large in the falling-right-off sense.) A wig is in progress for her now, though, and I found a sheer nightie thing in my mature-tiny collection that does not actually fit her, but can be finessed.
The Fluorite is complete and assembled and perfectly adorable. Photographs? Bah!
I also bought a pair of Volks MSD-sized VJeans for JJ, my Bory, because he needed jeans. I got a pair of jeans that are Volks-make, without question, but are... startlingly low quality, for Volks. I'm talking explosions of loose orange thread everywhere. I'm talking one back pocket right next to the butt seam and one off to one side. The snap has little actual snap, and the zipper is bulky enough that it gives JJ an... interesting... crotch bulge. He's supposed to be ten. That's disturbing.
I'd noticed that Volks has been downplaying the VJeans stuff over the past year or so, like they intend to quietly phase it out. I wonder if quality-control issues have anything to do with it.
