Once again Iplehouse proves that, when it comes right down to it, they are capable of reading my mind. The faceup on Beowulf's new shell came complete with faint smirk, thereby obviating my need to actually modify the faceup. Which is great, because it's a pretty nice faceup. Iplehouse's factory faceups have really improved since I got Jack in early 2006, I tell you.
The realskin resin is really terrific, a pale and translucent cafe au lait color without any marbling that I can see. (Also, no greening. Whew.) Of course, there are seam lines, but I've never... cared that much about seam lines? I guess if my dolls spent more time naked, I might.
Beowulf now looks smirky and wicked, instead of goony-happy. He also looks about five years older. Also, smokin' hot. Embarrassingly enough, I felt kind of bad while I was carrying the old WS Beowulf off to get stripped of his clothing and replaced--poor guy, he's been with me for three years, I thought--but I think my last burst of misplaced guilt dried up and blew away once I put Beowulf's wig on his new form. Goddamn that's a nice-looking doll.
I'll take him to the doll meet tomorrow; maybe I can get some pictures of him there.
beowulf,
