I'm really struggling to get through the week. It's been one of those workweeks where the time seems to pass very very slowly, despite the excitement of Halloween and the niftiness of seeing some very creative costumes at work today. I still can't believe that it's only Wednesday. At least time is marching on and November is just around the corner.
At work today, I wore my Pawnee Goddesses costume, which was basically a vest I made plus a bunch of iron on patches I got cheap from ebay. Simple but effective. I was fairly happy with it, though the tutorial I followed said to trace a t-shirt to get the pattern for the vest, and I should have chosen a larger shirt to trace, because the vest was a little tight around my chest. Oh well, for something that i only had to wear for 8 hours, it was perfectly fine.
I'm learning not to entirely hate LJ's new beta "newsfeed", but that's probably because I'm now used to how Tumblr behaves, which is entirely what they expect, right? I'm trying not to fall into that trap, but it's difficult. I'm going to try and stick to DW being a chronicle of my real life with Tumblr as where I got to fangirl over things. Maybe the distinction will help.
I also saw that Gallifrey One has sold out for 2013, after they capped the attendance at 3200. this was about the number that attended this year, which made the con lively but not really overwhelming unless you allowed it to be. Glad I registered at this year's con anyway. Though I always see complaints on Gally's Facebook page from people who couldn't register for whatever reason. I really think that if you wanted to attend, you should have registered sooner. Many wanted to "hold out" for guest announcements, but I think Gally is the wrong con for you if the guests are the main attraction. It's a fan-run con and I think much of the excitement for me is being surrounded by Whovians. I much prefer a focused con like Gally over a mega-uber con like SDCC.
But to each their own.
