Welp...

It's been some time since I've done a public post. So here is a public post. I'm going to attempt to post more often, since I've been neglecting my journal lately (well, if you call the past three or four months "lately") and I would like to at least get some stuff down that won't fit into 140 characters (like on Twitter) or in an animated GIF (I'm looking at you Tumblr).

We're easing into the slower season at work, with the advent of the summer TV hiatus. I feel like it's a reward for working hard from September through May. I kind of wish I were going somewhere this summer, though it doesn't look like that's going to happen. Maybe I'll just take a couple of days off just to have a couple of days off. It's odd that the 4th of July is on a Wednesday, so we only get that day off, which will make for the weirdest work week ever. I also wish I could do Comic-Con again, and I'm sort of waiting to see whether they'll have passes and hotel room packages as they've done for the past couple of years. If that happens, I might end up getting them just to get them. I don't know.

I think I'm starting to fall into a rut and I don't like falling into ruts. We'll see what the summer holds. In a couple of weeks I'll be seeing American Idiot in San Francisco at the Orpheum and I cannot wait. I should probably seek out more activities to do during the summer months, just to keep my brain from deteriorating from the heat.

Speaking of heat, we had the first true heat wave of the year today and it's so bad that I'm still up at 1:30am because I can't sleep with the heat. Luckily it's going to be much cooler tomorrow, so I won't be as useless.

My plan for the summer includes catching up on good TV that I've missed. The first show on the list is Friday Night Lights, which I started a couple of weeks ago and am now nearly finished, as I have 1 more season left. I cannot believe how addictive this show is, and I wish Eric and Tami Taylor were my parents. Julie, you don't really appreciate your mom and dad. I would. Also Landry cannot catch a break. :( I think I might hold off on starting the fifth season for a while, since that would probably mean I'd just marathon it and finish it up in one or two days. And I sort of want to savor the fact that for a few brief, shining years, this show existed. Next up, I want to start on Mad Men and Breaking Bad.

And I just spilled grapefruit juice all over my bed so I think I'm calling this a night.
