AH! I couldn't comment on your fic Once Again, With Feeling, but I really wanted to!
Omg just. I've been wanting a Christmas Carol-esque fic since I watched the Muppet Christmas Carol (for the idk how many times haha) last Christmas! And this is wonderful. Gwaine breaks my heart. That song I am everything you want / I am everything you need / I say all the right things / At exactly the right time / But I mean nothing to you and I know why / And I know why is just perfect! It was such a wonderful read and very interesting format! :D Good job, bb.

Thank you for your kind comments! I love Gwaine but that apparently translates to putting him through the wringer. I had fun with (and simultaneously wanted to throttle) the format.

If you're looking for Christmas Carol-esque fics, have you read Arthur's Christmas Carol? It's the first fill for the same prompt, and it's very well done.

Poor Gwaine. It seems loving him means hurting him. I think I'm more inclined to write Merlin/Arthur fics with Gwaine as Merlin's past/present/future lover hahaha. And he always ends up not getting Merlin anyway. Re: format -- I can imagine haha.

I think it's because Arthur/Merlin is still my OTP, but I really do like Gwaine/Merlin. One of these days, I'll write Gwaine/Merlin and make him happy...although one of the other fics I'm working on now also happens to be Arthur/Merlin and one-sided Gwaine/Merlin. ^^;; Someday, I'll make Gwaine happy.

Hahahaha someday! I really like Gwaine/Merlin if not because they look so cute on TV. But like, the idea of M/A not getting their happy ending makes me sad. So I can't. I love Gwaine, but he's better off with another character. Like Morgana. Or Percy. Haha.

Gwaine with anyone else just doesn't do it for me like Gwaine/Merlin, because it's just so obvious in the show that Gwaine adores Merlin. I don't think he's really interacted enough with anyone else to really do it for me.

I don't mind the fic where Arthur gets his comeuppance for not noticing/ignoring/generally not appreciating or being mean to Merlin and realizing it after he's gone and left him for Gwaine (because I'm a sucker for fics that hurt--I guess that's why I end up reading fics where one of the three isn't quite with who he wants). Threesomes don't work for me either. Something about the dynamics.

I even tried writing BSG AU where there are two copies of Merlin--one to love Arthur and one to love Gwaine (like Boomer and Athena, if you're familiar with BSG), but somehow, once I hashed out the plot, that had to go out the chute and now it's Arthur/Merlin and Gwaine/Leon. *sigh*

I like Gwaine/knights haha. But yeah, Gwaine/Merlin works so well! And their interaction onscreen! (makes the hurt/jealous fics more beautiful because you know that it's not just a forced sort of pairing)

I don't usually like threesomes, except when I'm really in the mood for it. (LOL THAT MAKES ME SOUND LIKE A TOTAL CREEPER AND A HORN DOG!) And I second angsty fics. They are so so delicious.

Exactly! And I think that's why Gwaine/Elyan (probably closest for me) or Leon or Lancelot or random other knight doesn't work as well for me, because I don't see the on-screen chemistry as much. Sure, they're working together in that last episode, but I don't see him particularly striking it out with anyone else. I leave season 4 to prove me wrong. And Gwaine/Morgana. I'm sorry, I really don't see it at all.
