Eighth day: Thursday 23rd
What made me happy today, and simultaneously sad, was finishing The Duchess by Amanda Foreman, which I have been reading since, if I am correct, the 13th of February. It was long book, and because I was busy and reading other books at the same time, it has taken me two months and ten days to finish. But I have, and it was wonderful! I think I enjoyed it even more than the film (which I really enjoyed), and I even cried at end, as I did watching the film. When did I become this person who cries at so many books and films? There used to be a really, really short list of films that made me cry, and now! It's huge! With books on it as well! But, this still counts as a happy thing, because I'm always ultimately happy when something like that makes me cry, because it means it's emotional and will probably be added to my favourites list. So The Duchess is a new favourite!
