Eric and Bill
Eric Montaquila, William DeRita, GD
I was treated to a nice lunch today at Twin Oaks in Cranston, RI, by two of my finest former students, Eric Montaquila and Bill DeRita. Both were La Salle graduates of the class of 1999, and I had both in my Italian classes for four consecutive years!
Over our veal or chicken-salad plates we reminisced about those four years, about their classmates, teachers, their lives since high school. Eric later graduated from Rhode Island College, Bill from Providence College. Eric is a physical fitness specialist and was massively into body building even in high school. His friend Bill is a professional accounting auditor. In coordination, they could probably straighten out my physical and financial insufficiencies.
It seems that the three of us share an interest in abandoned buildings in Rhode Island. I am grateful to them both for suggesting this lunch together and thinking of me. They were both fantastic A students. They continue to receive a grade of A for being fantastic gentlemen. It is an honor to know them.
