Here is an interesting vintage wall advertisement that has been restored. It is on the rear wall of the former Mohican Hotel on Washington Street in Providence. I like old faded exterior advertisements.
Someone noted the sexism inherent in the term "business men's luncheon." And I think the word luncheon has pretty much gone out of common parlance. It may have gone the same way as the $1.50 room. Though I remember staying in a downtown hotel for one night for about $3 when I ran away from home as a teenager.
It is rare to see one so carefully spiffed-up, though original unretouched "ghost signs" are just as interesting, like this other one I photographed in Pawtucket:
