WOW!

Anyone living in MA who wants to be able to go out to eat with me at some point should figure out who their MA State Representatives are and call them about this bill. I'm going to try and go to the public hearing tomorrow if I can figure out where the heck it is. I don't suppose anyone would like to join me?

A public hearing will take place in Massachusetts on July 11 regarding legislation designed to promote food allergy awareness among restaurants in that state. HB 2200 and HB 2214 call for:
- the prominent display of a food allergy awareness poster in the restaurant staff area;
- a notice on menus of the customer’s obligation to inform the server about any food allergies; and
- a food allergy training requirement for food protection managers and persons in charge of restaurants.

The public hearing will take place at 10 am in Room A-1 with the Committee on Public Health. For more information, contact the sponsors of the legislation, Representative Charles Murphy at (617) 722-2396 or Representative Alice Peisch at (617) 722-2080.
