My memorial day weekend
This weekend was going to be excellent. Went up to visit Ryan's family in Bellingham on friday. It was quite nice to see ryan's nice sister and her beautiful daughter. Lounged around Saturday since we were going to get up early on sunday to drive to sasquatch in the gorge. Sunday morning rolls around, we wake up early and begin our drive in the pouring rain.
Twenty minutes into the drive, we skid on the standing water, spin about 90 degrees in the freeway, hit the ditch, and roll over three times. This all happened in a matter of probably 10 seconds...though i am sure you can imagine the state of the car.
The miraculous thing about the entire incident, however, was that all three of us were completely unharmed. Ryan bumped his head, my arm is bruised and scratched from when the cooler in the backseat made its way up into my lap, and Rhianon needs to see a chiropracter for her neck/back. It could have been so much worse...the what-ifs make me shudder.
We didn't go to the concert, obviously, but instead just ate, slept, watched tv at the house and nursed our nerves back to their normal states.
Truely a terrifying experience.
