Amu is one of Takato's closest friends in Discedo. They've lived together for over half a year now, through losing their adult guardians several times and some truly horrible disasters. Takato worries often over Amu, and would do anything to keep her safe and happy.
HIKARI
Oh... but I don't know any others... do you know more, Takato-niichan?
Takato feels a strange responsibility for Hikari. He's been watching out for her for a long time, and treats her much like an adopted little sister. He worries over her, keeps an eye out for her posts, and is always willing to listen. At the same time, he always feels a little awkward, knowing that this is the same girl who he used to believe was a fictional character. He respects her older brother as a role model, and doesn't want to replace him at all.
MINATO
I can't replace Guilmon... but I can watch over you for him while he's not here. That I can do, if you'll let me.
Minato is another of Takato's favorite adults. Every time Takato has been in trouble Minato has dropped everything to reach him, and Takato appreciates that. Minato offered him guidance and support during some of Takato's worst moments in Discedo. He has begun to view Minato almost as a substitute parent figure, and as a mentor. Takato also attends Minato's monster avoidance classes and has been slowly learning some self-defense from him.
Takato carries one of Minato's special kunai.

It's no wonder you made a dream come true, Takato-kun, Only someone who truly believes that could pull it off.
Another of his favorite adults, Takato respects Yuuko a lot. She knows so much about things like dreams and wishes, and he loves listening to her tell stories and explain about those kinds of things Sometimes she reminds him of Mr. Shibumi or Azulongmon..

Takato is one of Gyatso's students at the primary school. More recently, Takato has been helping Gyatso with the baking for the soup kitchen. When Noble Heart disappeared Gyatso talked to Takato about it and offered him a home. Takato really respects Gyatso, and thinks he is very wise about a lot of different things. Actually, he reminds him a little bit of Azulongmon. If Azulongmon was human. Takato is also fascinated by the stories about strange animals and things like airbending Gyatso has told him.

I don't think you're someone who will break promises. But I do think you're someone who will find a way, Takato.
Takato's other surrogate grandpa. He doesn't know him very well, yet. But he enjoys talking to him, and is curious about all the magic.

Takato has known Selim for a long time, and considers him to be a good friend.

They're probably just programmed to be like that, then.
A digital boy who isn't a digimon. And seems to have problems with believing in other people. And dreams. And friendship. Takato thinks of him as a friend, but is pretty sure that Noa doesn't think of him in the same way. But it doesn't matter. Takato is determined to keep being his friend until he can be happy again

Itoshiki was one of the first adults Takato met in Discedo. He respects Itoshiki, and is in his English class. But doesn't understand him at all. Takato worries often at Itoshiki's insistence on focusing on the hopelessness of life. And the two times Itoshiki killed himself where Takato could see have not helped at all.
