I don't wanna wait...

So, I've been watching Dawson's Creek reruns on TBS almost every morning for the past few weeks...I never really watched that show when it was actually on but I totally remember all my friends talking about it so I knew all of the characters and story lines, but here is what I've observed about it, from a slightly more mature view than a 12 year old.

Ok, so the Character of Dawson is horrible.  He's a whiny, needy and overly analytical.  Plus James Vanderbeek is not that good looking.  I mean, he is a total hottie by mid 90s standard, as Janine and I discussed last week, but I mean, look beyond the time period, with the sorta long, kinda shortish light blond hair, the flannel shirts and the chunky sweaters being the "it" look and what do you have?  Nothing special really, he's totally average looking. Like totally...

Also, I don't know why I love Katie Holmes so much.  I seriously cannot put my finger on it, but I just adore her.  She's just so cute.  And Joey is totally an awesome character, and before I actually watched the show and realized that Dawson was a tool, I used to get upset that she ended up Pacey, but now I totally think differently.  I think that Joey and Dawson and kinda like a Jo and Laurie type situation, they have a nice childhood love, but if it ever went further its no good...also Dawson is a tool.

Pacey is the kind of character who I would normally hate, but I make the exception because its Joshua Jackson...I can't make myself hate Joshua Jackson, I can't do it!  Even though, he too is kind of only hot in a mid 90s way...can't explain, maybe its because Pacey doesn't whine as much as Dawson so I like him better.  I mean, he's just a total ass hole, but he's so cute and apologetic when he does horrible things.  Of course this is slightly ruined again, by the flannel and the chunky sweaters, not to mention the bushy eye brows.  *shudders*

Now that I have presented my take on the individual performances, I say this about the whole show...its a total so bad that its good kind of thing.  The dialogue is stiff and verbose, the actors are about 27 and playing 15, not to mention the story lines are ridiculous.  Joey would never have gone out with Dawson, because really, who actually goes out with their childhood best friend? It doesn't happen.  She probably would have had sex with Pacey tho, because, Pacey is one of those guys who has sex with every body, but still, Dawson wouldn't have gotten as upset about it as he did, because they wouldn't have gone out, cuz that doesn't happen...all that aside, its fun to watch, for the bad acting and writing, as well as the horrible mid 90s lets try to capture small town New England Teens fashion that they all wear...and Katie Holmes is awesome.
