Первая фотовыставка

Aug 24, 2010 11:43

author: Serena Previta (Italy)
Born and raised in Italy, she moved to Finland two years ago as a result of the strange and facinating paths of life. She enjoys Tampere’s cultural and artistic life in many ways; especially those that have led her to experiment with other artistic languages besides photography, thanks to precious contact with talented and inspiring people. Officially a graphic designer and photographer, she prefers to define herself as a human being : )
DABIA KOURAM

Dabia is a small rural village in Senegal, situated in the region of Matam, along the border with Mauritania. The registered population is about 4 000 inhabitants, of which 2 500 have emigrated to the capital city Dakar, other African countries, Europe and United States. Many leave their country, children, wives, parents, job with big economical draws towards other continents where all the richness and well-being seems  concentrated and everything seems to be easy. But the booming civilized continents are revealed to be not so blooming after all, while emigration steals Africa of its vital resource: people. Those who remain are mainly women waiting for their husbands or children dreaming of emigration, and to follow the example of their fathers. In this process their values and traditions, only held by the old wise-men, slowly disappear to be replaced by new ones imported from a totally different context. Dabia Kouram is the refrain of a song the children of Dabia taught me, and it means in the
local dialect: Dabia all together.
It is a wish for them to keep on being together in their identity and make treasure from it.

author: Francesca Allievi
Born in Northern Italy, she moved to even further North and has now lived and worked in Finland for over 2 years. Despite her MSc. in Environmental Engineering she cannot give up her artistic side, and nurtures it in many ways, among which photography is prevailing at the moment. She thinks life is a journey: learning to enjoy it fully is her challenge.
CLOSER
Since I was a child I have always liked to observe small things (insects, little stones, buttons, more insects...), but it was from a scene of the movie “The thin red line” that my interest in macro photography started: to see how beautiful some sunlit grass with a tiny bug could be on a big screen had a significant impact on me. Years later I got myself a nice macro lens and started to use it as a means to take a different approach at what surrounds me: this has become a fascinating search for beauty, patterns, textures and all those interesting details you can enjoy when you change the scale of your point of view. Noticing how much more you can see when you move closer to the subject to take a picture, I found myself thinking of how much we are missing in life because we stick to the most common point of view. This first exhibition of mine is therefore also an invitation to look at everything closer.

author: Galina Berezina
Born in USSR and grown up in Russia (Mari republic) , she has learned to solve difficulties by keeping positive attitude and trying to look at them from different points of view. She is one of those who thinks that the glass is half full than half empty. She has been attracted to Finland by love and stayed here for more then 1 year due to job of her dream. Working in Tampere as an architect she can not give up from trying herself in different areas of art where photography is still the most fascinating one.
IT IS ALL ABOUT POINT OF VIEW
I always wonder how differently can look like everyday things around us. How we are in anticipation of happiness and in pursuit of new impressions, waiting for a moment/place to make us smile, give up to pay attention to beauty around us. The world is full of nice presents, wonder and smiles for everyone. When we were children we used to know how to see those but forgot about it at some point becoming more serious and efficient.
By taking different route from work to home and staring around instead of usual feet , by keeping eyes and mind open, by enjoying current moments of life and myself - I learn to love the world.
This is my first exhibition and first time when I share my philosophy with big auditorium. If my pictures make you smile or wonder then I will let myself think that this mission is accomplished :)
