entry about work, Sinatra and all kinda stuff
In the last couple of weeks i'm again having thoughts about quitting by research.
It is interesting, it always was, and i'm very passionate about this wonderfull thing called biology. but again i feel that i'm just not good enough to do research. I'm quite good with the thinking, raising ideas, questions, finding hints in the literature. it's just the actual experiments that is upsetting me. Too many experiments go unsuccessful, or with unconsistent results.
And going from yeast to mammalian cells doesn't seem to have helped much in that respect.

A few weeks ago i bought a CD of Frank Sinatra songs, out of curiosity, and well... yes, trying to create a romantic mood. And you know what? It works!
I tried listening to it when i was alone, and it was b-o-r-i-n-g.
But then i put it on one night when Miri came (and lit an "aromantic" candle) and it was so... i don't know... it just suddenly worked. It was suddenly nice to listen to that music.
(But due to some circumstances, after listening to the CD for several times during the weekend, we now start to laugh uncontrollably whenever we get to track 7.)

am now reading "The amazing adventures of Kavalier & clay" (or whatever it's spelled in english). what a wonderfull book. I was a bit hesitant, since comics ain't my thing, but Miri saved me the trouble and bought it for me. thank you dear!

Dafna is an army officer, starting tomorrow. yay for her!

Am worried about Einav. her illnesses just seem to get worse every week. she's had a few dozen of blood sapmles taken, and had biopsies taken a few days ago. but at least she has a boy friend who takes care of her.

Icon, israeli Sci-fi largest convention, coming up fast. So far, the only events I really really really want to be in are a workshop hosted by Itamar Faran (remember the TV series "the storyteller"? Itamar reminds me alot of the storyteller in his attitude. he's great!) and the filking event.
am still undecided whether to go to Guy Hasson's lecture, or to the Buffy musical with cast a-la rocky horror. Who put them at the same time?
but before icon, we have a fisheye con, next thursday.
and tomorrow - Shlomo Artzi con (well, not con; show.)

speaking of story teller - last week watched the entire series (but one episode) with Lordsketch. Twas fun. more than watching alone, and pity that other invitees (ehm) didn't come.
so enjoyed, that writing an article about it.
