To know that I am truly blessed

The wild life of college living is beginning to come to a temporary close. Soon the flowers of Spring will open to welcome the feet of thousands of edjucated young adults. But this freedom that is normally so longed for has been overshadowed in my case. Instead of wistfully killing time until the point of my release I have found new vitality and purpose. It's been some time since I was in a relationship, and even then no relationship I've had is quite like the one i share with Rachel. We're always making each other smile, especially with all of the coincidences we seem to uncover. Sometimes it almost seems that fate or some higher power conspired for such an arrangement to happen. Even as these words are being typed into this aimless blog, I understand that I have truly been blessed and thank God for bringing the two of us together.

I can remember two years ago when I first met Rachel. She seemed so very sad and lost, and even today I still get that feeling. But that rusted shackle of the past is crumbling away before my eyes. This past weekend I did my best to make it a time she wouldn't forget. Aparently for almost as long as she's been alive she's dreamed of riding horses, this past sturday I got the opertunity to help that dream become reality. For me, helping her live a dream was really something special, but what made the day really special was seeing Rachel smile. And not just a little smile, but a big, wide, toothy grin. The kind of smile that lets the sun shine through your grin. I've been with Rachel a little over two weeks now and her bashfulness has been rather apparent, but more and more I see her starting to come to life. So far no moment was brighter than that smile. The kind of smile I hope to tell grandchildren about. Where magic translated in the moment of rhaphsody and becomes delightfully infectious to everyone who sees it. If my future can be as bright as that one smile, then I will never fear for anything.
