As is probably apparent, I keep all other posts in this journal locked to friends only. This is a personal space that allows me to keep in touch with old friends that have scattered across the globe and occasionally affords me an opportunity to make new friends. If you know me personally or would like to know me because we share similar interests, please write me a note at galeran@livejournal.com. Certain of my scrapbook galleries are open to the public, including one of nature photography and another of cooking and gastronomy.
I am an academic by vocation, and though this journal has little to do with my professional life, possession of a blog has been known to be held against academics during job interviews and tenure decisions. I ask that those who evaluate me professionally look to my accomplishments elsewhere and respect my privacy here.
