Surely made in Australia. :) But mostly true.

I am pretty sure you are right. On both counts :)

very true.
interestingly, etymonline.com does not say anything about the origin on the term Pom, Pommie. Why do australians call brits that way?

I am not totally sure, but I have heard that Pom derives from the fact the English convicts bore on their backs the letters P.O.H.M - Prisoners of His Majesty.

that looks just about as true as the etymology of FUCK from Fornication Under Consent (of the) King.

:) I agree :) The only other hypothesis I have heard is that Pom is a backformation from pomegrant (a sort of fruit as far as I know). Possibly because they have completions like them. But would you believe this one? :)

Aussies: Are extremely patriotic about their beer.

Foster's??? No way. It is rather what Americans drink!

Australian Whisky - that's what is worth to be proud of. Try the "Great Outback".

My dear, it is the greatest misconception of all - Aussies do not drink Fosters :)You are absolutely right here - It is rather what Americans drink :)

Right, I keep recalling the famous Foster's "Australian English Lessons" ads:
"Tourist (a clumsy surfer) -- Beer (Fosters)"
"Salad (huge steak with a tiny green) -- Beer (Fosters)"
etc.

What do Aussies drink then? :)

What do Aussies drink then? :)

For example, Hahn, KB lager, Victoria Bitter (VB), Coopers, West End...This is only what I can remember. But Fosters is for Americans only
