Seriously, taxi companies should just close down if they don’t want any passengers.
I was trying to call several cab companies because my mom was having a hard time to hail a cab along Ayala avenue awhile ago (4pm, Dec. 24) and she needs to be home urgently because aside from being Christmas eve, it’s my dad’s birthday and we are having a family dinner. So from the bunch of cab companies I was calling, I was able to get through to Lulu Taxi.
I told the phone operator (girl) if I they can accommodate my mom for pick up, that she’s currently in Ayala ave. cor Makati ave. and that she’s going home in Greenwoods (Pinagbuhatan, Pasig). The girl said she’ll ask the driver if he’s agreeable to this and passed the phone to him (the driver). Again, I said the same thing to the driver and the driver and he said he’ll ask if the girl will agree. The girl asked me what the driver said and I told her that he said that if it’s ok with her, he’ll pick up my mom. Then I hear them talking in the background repeating the whole “where to pick up, where to drop off” situation and I heard the driver say malayo (it’s far), traffic. I said that we’ll just pay extra then the girl said that the driver didn’t want to pick up. I was trying to tell them that it was hard to get a cab and my mom just needed to come home but even before I started to speak the girl just slammed the phone.
These people really need to know what their business is and that they should not refuse paying customers. If they don’t want to drive then DON’T BE A DRIVER! Also these phone operators should learn some manners. I’m sure Lulu taxi is not the only cab company like this, is there a way where we can report these incidents? I swear, I will do everything I can to make this situation heard. These cab companies should be reprimanded or have their permits taken away or something.
